All of our silver jewelry is made of 925 sterling silver, which includes 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals, including copper. When the copper alloy comes in contact with moisture (sweat, water, and humidity) or certain acids in household and grooming products (cleaning products, lotions, perfumes, and soaps), it may create a chemical reaction that can turn your finger green. This reaction is harmless. People with high body acidity are more likely to experience this green finger reaction. A "green finger" does not indicate that the jewelry is not sterling silver.
Sterling silver naturally tarnishes over time. This reaction is accelerated when it comes in contact with materials that have high contents of sulfur. When sterling silver tarnishes, the outer layer of the jewelry becomes discolored. This can cause your finger to turn black. You can use Berricle Silver Polishing Cloth to clean the jewelry and maintain the shine.
